Larval host plants: Alnus serrulatus , Betula spp. , Carya , Castanea dentata , Fagus grandifolia , Juniperus virginiana , Liriodendron tulipifera , Pinus rigida , Populus deltoides , Quercus spp. , Salix exigua and Sassafras albidum ( Monné & Nearns 2022b)

Adult flower hosts: Achillea , Asclepias , Daucus carota , Hydrangea arborescens , Sambucus nigra , Spiraea , Viburnum ( Lingafelter 2007) and Ceanothus , Cirsium, Melilotus , Rhus , Rubus and Solidago ( Bousquet et al. 2017)

Comments: The most abundant species in this genus in Kentucky, probably due to its wide host range that includes both hardwoods and conifers. Adults are diurnal and most commonly collected on flowers.
