Hokkaidocephala Tenora, Gulyaev & Kamiya, 1999

Type species: Hokkaidocephala apodemi ( Iwaki, Tenora, Abe, Oku & Kamiya, 1994) (syn. Andrya apodemi Iwaki, Tenora, Abe, Oku & Kamiya, 1994 ).

Other species: Hokkaidocephala baeri ( Rausch, 1976) n. comb. (syn. Anoplocephaloides baeri Rausch, 1976 ).

Diagnosis: Anoplocephalidae . Strobila of short or intermediate length, relatively wide. Scolex globular. Neck short and wide relative to scolex. Suckers embedded within scolex, directed laterally or antero-laterally. Proglottides craspedote, much wider than long. Genitalia single. Genital pores unilateral. Genital ducts cross osmoregulatory canals dorsally. External and internal seminal vesicles present. Testes dorsal, mainly antiporal. Ovary and vitellarium poral. Vagina ventral or postero-ventral to cirrus sac. Seminal receptacle elongate. Early uterus transverse cord or tube, with sparse posterior fenestrations (not clearly seen in macerated type specimens), positioned ventrally and anteriorly, may overlap or extend slightly across ventral longitudinal canals (ventrally). Subsequent development of uterus by irregular posterior sacculations; anterior sacculations absent or few and shallow. Development of reproductive organs slightly progynous; testes persist long after resorption of female glands, overlapping uterus dorsally. Pyriform apparatus present. In Japanese murid rodents ( Apodemus spp ).
