Persian Gulf. Saudi Arabia ( Apel 2001), UAE ( Nobili 1906a; Titgen 1982; Hornby 1977; Apel 2001), Iran ( Apel 2001; Moradmand 2007; present study).

Iran. During the present study this was the most common species of the rocky shores along entire Iranian coast.

General distribution. Northwestern Indian Ocean: Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Socotra, southern Oman (Dhofar), Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Pakistan.

Habitat. Rocky/cobble intertidal.

Remarks. This is the most common species within the intertidal zone of the Persian Gulf, and along the Iranian coast as well. Clibanarius signatus is one of the taxonomically well known species of the genus.
