DISTRIBUTION. — North of New Caledonia: Grand Passage; Vanuatu; live in 270 m, shells in 160-182 m.

DESCRIPTION. — Shell up to 7.4 mm long, regularly curved except close to the mouth, where a prominent bulge forms. Shiny, translucent except at bulge area, where it is opaque white. Maximum diameter at bulge, close to peristome. Growth lines pronounced. Apex slightly dorsoventrally compressed, with ventral and dorsal lobes, ventral one larger and sharper, with a small protuberance near the tip of its internal wall. Preapical callus thin, lumen subcircular. Mouth dorsoventrally compressed.

Measurements of holotype: L 7.4, W 1, w 0.55-0.50, arc 0.5.

REMARKS. — Dischides celeciai is similar to D. montrouzieri , described below, both having a bulge close to the mouth. The differences are in the width of the apex in relation to the length of the shell and in the form of the apical lobes. Dischides celeciai is less tapering and its apical lobes are shorter and wider than in D. montrouzieri . There are also differences in the surface texture, D. montrouzieri being smoother.
