ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1871a: 320.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Apennino parmensi [ Parmese Apennines ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♀♀, syntypes (one missing right mid-leg, the other covered with mold) ( MZUF: Box 23): Yetodesia Rnd. / nigripalpis Rnd. / 1193.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Helina quadrinotata ( Meigen, 1826) ( Pont 1986b: 148, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 14).

REMARKS: Rondani (1871a: 320) described Yetodesia nigripalpis from just the female sex without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens. Hennig (1961: 227) mistakenly reported the two specimens in the MZUF as males. We found two female syntypes in this study.
