Lathrolestes erythrocephalus (Gravenhorst, 1829)

Figs 31–34.

Tryphon erythrocephalus Gravenhorst, 1829 ; Polyoncus erythrocephalus [ Roman, 1912];

Lathrolestes erythrocephalus [ Aubert, 2000]; Perilissus erythrocephalus View in CoL [ Horstmann, 2001].

Diagnosis. This species differs from other members of the genus by its brownish tegulae, from the closely related L. obliquus it differs by the orange, swollen head (Fig. 31, 33), vein 2 m-cu intercepting the areolet at its middle, and the strongly impressed occiput.

Comments. This species has been placed in the genus Perilissus recently ( Horstmann, 2001) but previously Aubert (2000) was correct in placing this species in the genus Lathrolestes . The character state of the occipital carina not reaching the hypostomal carina means that this species belongs in Lathrolestes .
