Comment: Quaintance (1900) described this species from several individuals collected in various places in Florida. The USNM has 4 slides marked as being part of the type series having the Quaintance number (Q 4067). The slide that contains the lectotype includes 6 puparia, with the lectotype marked by two arrows pointing to it. The remaining 5 individuals are designated as paralectotypes, although 4 of them only show the ventral side of the puparium. A phytoseiid mite, Typhlodromips simplicissimus ( De Leon, 1959) is also present on the slide. The remaining three slides include 1 puparium (#Q4067), 1 adult female, and 1 adult male, respectively; the latter slide also has an adult female Encarsia species. Carapia–Ruiz et al. (2018c) reported this species from Mexico, provided a redescription and illustrations of the species and suggested that it may be a senior synonym of Aleuropleurocelus rotundus ( Baker, 1937) .
