Puthz, 1970: 16 (subgenus Parastenus ; Type locality: Burma: Carin Ghecù, 1300–1400 m); Puthz, 1981b: 151 (characters); Rougemont, 1983a: 51 (characters; Thailand); Herman, 2001a: 2408; Smetana, 2004: 546 (Palaearctic catalog); Puthz 2013a: 1400; Schülke & Smetana, 2015: 843 (Palaearctic catalog).

Material examined: China: Yunnan: Tengchong County, Tongbiguan Country , 2 females, under grass, 26. VI.2016. Xiao-Yan Li leg. (IZ-CAS).

Remarks: This species can be distinguished from S. zhangyejunianus Lv et Zhou , sp. nov. and S. nabanhensis Lv et Zhou , sp. nov by micropterous.
