Additional description. Forewing length in male about 4.7 mm. Colour stramineous, including abdomen; margins of vertex and basal margins of frons orange-red; middle of hind margin of pronotum and sides of pronotum faintly orange-red; mesonotum light brown, near scutellum reddish, and scutellum bright orange-red. Male genitalia with pygofer narrow. Genital styles oval; proximal dorsal process short and slender, distal dorsal process elongated. Apical portion of aedeagus short, tapering towards end, with a dorsal impression and two dorsal, contiguous, terminal lobes.

Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective (cascus, -a, -um = old).

Type material. Holotype, ♂ (forewing 4.7 mm) NEW CALEDONIA; labels: 1) Type 2) NEW CALEDONIA:/ Mt. Koghi, 500m / 29.XI.1963 3) R. Straatman/ Collector/ BISHOP 4) Saccharodite / casca Fennah / Det. R.G. Fennah/ TYPE ( BPBM #7679).

Distribution. New Caledonia.

Diagnosis. Saccharodite casca resembles Sa. chrysonoe (Kirkaldy) from Australia. It can be distinguished by its stramineous frons and thoracic sternites, by the lack of orange forewing veins around the apex of Cu, and by the more pointed apex of the male aedeagus, which lacks a deep dorsal groove.
