Diagnosis. Rhotana pacata is externally indistinguishable from R. ornata Zelazny from the Philippines. The males can be recognized by the simple apical portion of the aedeagus, lacking any processes. R. pacata is also similar to R. ramosa sp. nov. from Sumatra, as well as to R. fera sp. nov. and R. tridentata sp. nov., both also from Borneo. It can be distinguished from these by the forewings having a vein between the base of Ms1a and M and also by the shape of the male aedeagus.
