(Figs 12–16)

Etymology. The specific epithet is given in honor of the late Paulo César Vinha, a Brazilian ecologist and mycologist, and after whom the park where the holotype was collected is named.

Description. Female. Large; fore wing length 1.10 cm.

Head. Mandible 2.00 as long as basal width; clypeus 2.12 as wide as high, entirely finely punctate; supraclypeal area entirely densely punctate, densely pilose; antenna with 32 flagellomeres, white band starting at flagellomere 5, reaching flagellomere 12; flagellum transversal section somewhat triangular, subapical flagellomeres much wider than basal flagellomeres; supra-antennal area ventrally slightly concave, sparsely pilose, scarcely punctate, medially without sulcus; gena and vertex behind ocelli punctulate, sparsely pilose; occipital carina weak, dorsally absent, reaching hypostomal carina far from mandible base; malar space 0.94 as long as basal width of mandible.

Figures 12–16. Priotomis vinhai , sp. nov. 12, Habitus; 13, Dorsal view; 14, Ovipositor; 15, Mandible, dorsal view; 16, Head in frontal view. Figures 12 and 13 by Berthil B. Longo.

Mesosoma . Sparsely pilose, in dorsal view 1.75 as long as wide, in lateral view middle width 0.39 cm; pronotum posteriorly scarcely punctate, densely pilose; collar scarcely punctate; pronotal sulcus not corrugated; Scutoscutellar groove smooth; scutellum 1.11 as long as wide, densely punctate; hind margin of metanotum without teeth; mesopleuron entirely densely punctate; mesopleural groove minutely corrugated; epicnemial carina strong, dorsally slightly curved forwards; dorsal end of epicnemial carina reaching only 0.3 of posterior margin of pronotum; sternaulus absent at posterior 0.5, weakly corrugated; mesopleural fovea deeply impressed, forming pit; mesothoracic venter punctate; median portion of posterior transverse carina of mesothoracic venter absent; transverse furrow at base of propodeum laterally 0.12 as long as anterior portion of propodeum, smooth, moderately deep and narrow; propodeum 1.09 as long as wide medially; anterior margin without teeth; anterior portion of propodeum strigulate; posterior portion of propodeum entirely confused-rugulose, posteriorly without longitudinal carinae; anterior transverse carina of propodeum complete, strong; propodeal spiracle 0.67 as wide as long; pleural carina of propodeum absent; lower division of metapleuron punctate, sparsely pilose; juxtacoxal carina short and weak.

Wings. Fore wing: vein 2+3Rs almost straight; vein 1M+Rs uniformly curved; vein 1cu-a straight, angle with vein M+Cu about 90°; vein 2-Cu 0.54 as long as vein 2cu-a; vein 4Rs 0.75 as long as vein 4-M, sinuous; cell 1+2Rs 0.57 as high as pterostigma, pentagonal; vein 2-M approximately as long as vein 3-M. Hind wing: vein 1-Cu 1.05 as long as vein cu-a; vein 2-1A reaching 0.41 of distance to posterior margin.

Metasoma. T1 0.43 as long as hind femur, polished; spiracle at anterior 0.72, not prominent in dorsal view; postpetiole dorsolaterally slightly depressed; T2–8 punctate, posteriorly coriarious, sparsely pilose; T2 0.72 as long as wide at apex; apex of T2 2.07 as wide as base; ovipositor sheath 0.23 as long as hind tibia; dorsal valve with 6 teeth; ventral valve with 10 widely spaced teeth.

Color. Head and mesosoma black and yellow, metasoma ferruginous (183,095,052). Head: mostly yellow; mandible apex, clypeus medially, supraclypeal area around clypeus and lateromedially, supra-antennal area medially and occiput, black; flagellum dorsally whitish at f6–11. Mesosoma : black with the following bright yellow marks: collar and pronotum laterally, subcircular spot dorsoposteriorly at pronotum, two longitudinal short marks at mesoscutum, scutellum, tegula, ridge, mesopleuron ventrally opposite to mesepimeron, upper division of metapleuron laterally, dorsal half of lower division of metapleuron. Legs: fore and mid coxae black with large dorsal yellow (229,212,139) spot; mid coxa dorsally with apical orange spot; the remainder of fore and mid legs yellow, with dorsal yellow stripes at trochanters and femora. Hind coxa, trochanter, trochantellus, and femur ferruginous; coxa and femur with dorsal black marks; tibia, and t1–2 yellowish. All t3–5 dorsally black. Metasoma: mostly ferruginous; T1 dorsally black; T2 blackish at posterior 0.5; T2–8 yellowish towards apex. Ovipositor sheath brownish.

Comments. Readily recognized by the following combination of features: Clypeus medially with longitudinal black mark (Fig. 15); supraclypeal area with dark longitudinal marks (Fig. 16); mid coxa dorsally with large pale yellow mark (Fig. 12); metasoma mostly orange, T1 dorsally black, T2–3 posteriorly blackish; posterior portion of propodeum without transversal or longitudinal carinae. Color pattern of mesosoma similar to P. rana , from which it can be differentiated by the face profusely marked with yellow (vs. entirely black in P. r a n a), and the pronotum and mesoscutum with yellow stripes (vs. entirely black).

Male. Unknown.
