Muiralevu telum Zelazny , sp. nov.

Description. Forewings 2.4 times longer than wide, length in male about 4.6 mm. Colour stramineous to light brown; forewings not powdered, uniformly and lightly infuscated; a dark mark at M-Ms4 fork, a smaller mark near R-Rs1 fork. Hindwings colourless, veins stramineous. Rostrum reaching hind-coxae. Forewings with Sc+R fork before middle of wing; bases of Cu1 and Ms1 connected by a short cross-vein, Ms1 branched very close to apex of basal median cell; base of Ms1a angulated and connected to M by a cross-vein. Hindwings with apex of R unbranched. Pygofer with large and pointed lateral projections. Genital styles elongated, truncate at the end. Aedeagus with apical portion large, slightly curved ventrad; with a longitudinal dorsal impression.

Etymology. The species name is a Latin noun ( telum = a spear) used in apposition.

Distribution. West Malaysia.

Diagnosis. Muiralevu telum is characterized by the uniformly and lightly infuscated forewings, by the mark at the M-Ms4 fork, and by the large and pointed lateral projections of the male pygofer.
