Description. Forewings 2.4 times longer than wide, length in male about 4.5 mm. Colour stramineous to light brown; a conspicuous red mark in front of eyes. Forewings not powdered; a group of prominent, partly merging dark marks around apical parts of Cu1 and Ms1b; clavus, central third, and tip of wing light yellowish brown; two infuscated bands across base; additional infuscations around first subcostal sector and along anterior apical crossveins. Hindwings faintly infuscated in apical half. Rostrum reaching hind-coxae. Forewings with Sc+R fork before middle of wing; bases of Cu1 and Ms1 connected by a cross-vein; Ms1 branched at apex of basal median cell, base of Ms1a angulated, connected to M by a cross-vein. Hindwings with tip of R branched. Male pygofer narrow. Apex of aedeagus spatulate and curved; apical margin slightly emarginated.

Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective ( coniunctus , -a, -um = joined together).

Type material. Holotype ♂ (forewing 4.5 mm), EAST MALAYSIA: NORTH BORNEO; labels: 1) BRITISH N. BORNEO / W. Coast Residen-/ cy, Ranau , 8 mi. N./ Paring Hot Springs / 500 m. x-9–18-'59 2) T. C. Maa / Collector / BISHOP ( BPBM).

Distribution. North Borneo.

Diagnosis. Muiralevu coniunctus shows some similarities to M. quadramaculatus (Muir) from Taiwan, but can be easily separated by the partly fused and larger forewing marks.
