TYPE MATERIAL. — Holotype IMT 80-60 [not seen], figured by Kosuge & Suzuki (1985: pl. 7, fig. 1, pl. 26, figs 6, 7), “transferred to the collection of Mr Masaji Suzuki” ( Kosuge 1992); also figured by Higo et al. (2001: 67, G2420), who cited SSSM as the repository for the same figured specimen.

TYPE LOCALITY. — South China Sea, “± 150 m ” (Higo et al. 1999: 218) .

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Loyalty Ridge. MUSORSTOM 6: stn DW 468, 21°06’S, 167°33’E, 600 m, 1 lv.

DISTRIBUTION. — Pacific Ocean : Japan, Tosa Bay , to the South China Sea and the Ogasawara Islands (Tsuchiya 2000), “ 50-200 m coral reefs” (Higo et al. 1999: 218). Loyalty Ridge, live in 600 m. First record in the southwest Pacific .

REMARKS. — Protoconch missing in the single specimen found.
