2. Glyphidops (Glyphidops) coracinus View in CoL , new species

( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 A–I, 14B)

Diagnosis. Dark brown with bluish reflections. Frontal vitta yellow with brown “Y” shaped stripe from antennal base to ocellar tubercle. Fronto-orbital plate yellow on anterior half and brown on posterior half. First flagellomere elliptic and arista apical. Genal seta hair-like. Femora yellow with proximal and distomedial yellowish-brown rings. Surstylus linear. Syntergite 7+8 dorsally convex and protuberant.

Male. Body length 5.6 mm. Wing length 4.6 mm and width 1.4 mm. Dark brown with bluish reflections; head and thorax partly yellow ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A).

Head. Slightly elongate in lateral view; dorsally almost as long as wide: 4.8 mm length and 4.2 mm width. Frontal vitta yellow, except for wide blackish-brown “Y” shaped stripe from anterior margin of frons to ocellar tubercle ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C); fronto-orbital plate brown with yellow spot between two anterior pairs of fronto-orbital setae. Postocellar seta convergent; length twice transverse diameter of ocellar tubercle; inner vertical seta straight and 80% length of postocellar seta; outer vertical seta curved, divergent equal to inner vertical seta. Genal seta hairlike; length 70% length of postocellar seta. Postgena relatively wide, slightly narrowing posteriorly. Occiput bluish; height 3.3 times length ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 D). Antennal base brown. Antenna length 70% length of head. Scape yellowishbrown and darkened laterally; 0.2 mm long. Pedicel same color as scape; 0.2 mm long; inner process of pedicel elongate, finger-like with pointed apex. First flagellomere elliptic, same color as scape; 0.5 mm long; length 2.4 times width. Arista apical with dense white pubescence.

Thorax. Pleuron same color as thorax dorsally. Anterior notopleural seta absent. Posterior notopleural seta length 80% length of scutellar seta. Supra-alar seta subequal to postalar seta. Dorsocentral seta subequal to scutellar seta. Scutellar seta straight and 80% length of scutellum. Proepisternum with three or four anteroventral yellow setulae. Katepisternal seta absent. Katatergite length 1.1 times height. Metepimeron yellow.

Legs. Mid coxa with one lateral seta. Femora subshiny yellow with proximal and distomedial yellowish-brown rings. Mid femur anteriorly with one or two median setae.

Wing ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 E) Basicosta without seta. Halter whitish with knob blackish-brown.

Abdomen. Same color as thorax. Syntergite 7+8 dorsally convex and protuberant. Epandrium pale yellowishbrown and velvety dorso-apically ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 F–G).

Variation. Body length 6.0– 7.4 mm. Wing length 4.3–5.4 mm and width 1.6 mm. Femora yellowish-brown rings are not always conspicuous, in some cases one or two rings are detectable.

Female. Similar to male, differs as follows: body length 5.8–7.3mm ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 B). Wing length 4.8–6.1 mm and width 1.4–1.7 mm. Oviscape yellowish-brown with lateral and distal margins paler; length 1.6 times maximum width ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 H–I).

Etymology. This new species is named coracinus , a word from Latin that means “black as a crow” / “bluish reflections”, referring to its general color.

Comments. Of the eight type specimens of G. (G.) obscurus examined, four female paratypes are renamed herein as G. (G.) coracinus , as they present the characters included in Table 1 View TABLE 1 , corresponding to this species and not G. (G.) obscurus , as stated by Hennig (1937).
