CUF - NKNY - G 65 (25 shells; Figs 4 G View Figure 4 , 11 B View Figure 11 ).

Habitat.

In estuaries, mangrove and coastal forests, on salt marshes above the normal high tide line in or under rotting wood, and on sandy soil bordering a sandy beach ( Raven and Vermeulen 2007).

Distribution.

Arabian Gulf and Indian Ocean; Indo-West Pacific, from South China Sea to Australia ( Poutiers 1998 b; Robba et al. 2004). Records of fossils from the Early Miocene to Holocene in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand ( Robba et al. 2004; Dharma 2005; Matsubara and Komori 2007; Raven and Vermeulen 2007).

Record in Thailand.

Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea ( Wells et al. 2021).

Taxonomic remarks and comparisons.

This species is recognised based on the descriptions and figures in Brandt (1974), Poutiers (1998 b), and Robba et al. (2004), specifically in having an elongate-oval and unshouldered shell with the sculpture of numerous axial grooves and fine spiral lines.
