Diagnosis. Medium sized spiders with 10.6 mm body length and unsusual colour pattern of V-shaped chevrons on dorsal opisthosoma (see note above: artefact?). The median dark patch of colour pattern A is narrower in D. cruciata ( Fig. 33 ; see note below). Carina separated, middle field with circular central depression. Fossae broad and shallow ( Fig. 30 ). Copulatory ducts covering only part of stalk of spermathecae, not extending beyond head of spermathecae laterally ( Fig. 31 ). Slit sense organs close to epigynal field, separated from it by less than their length ( Fig. 30 ).

Distribution. Known only from the type locality.

Note. This is the only specimen known from Africa. Dendrolycosa may have a disjunct distribution pattern. However, it should be noted, that Roewer faked locality data ( Helversen & Martens 1972), and D. cruciata could theoretically also be an Asian representative.
