Material examined. SOUTH AFRICA. 1/1/0, Groenvlei, north-side, Goukamma NR, Western Cape Province, 34° 01.535 S 22° 51.025 E, 14-xi-2004 GoogleMaps .

Remarks. Given the large differences in size between A. chappuisi and A. c. grandis , the differences in idiosoma and petiole shape, I propose to elevate the rank of the latter to that of a species. Previously reported from

Kenya ( Walter & Bader 1952), South Africa ( Münchberg 1958, as A. dimontifer Münchberg and A. octotumuli Münchberg; K.O. Viets 1965, 1968) and Rwanda ( Bader 1976).
