Type locality. Santo Inácio , Gentio do Ouro,right margin of the São Francisco river, state of Bahia, Brazil .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 7A View Plate 7 ), known from two records in the Caatinga ( Plt. 7A View Plate 7 ) at low elevations ( Plt. 7B View Plate 7 ). Observed in the field in xeric scrubland on sandy soil ( Rodrigues, 1991).
