DISTRIBUTION. Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Venezuela.

HOST PLANTS. Lycopsida ­ Selaginellaceae : Selaginella eurynota . Filicopsida ­ Pteridaceae : Adiantum platyphyllum ­group; Schizaeaceae : Anemia phyllitidis ; unidentified ferns intercepted at US quarantine stations.

COMMENTS. This is the only whitefly species known to colonise Selaginella . It is occasionally intercepted by US quarantine stations, on ferns from Central and northern South America.
