ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1875b: 179 (key), 184 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro parmensi [ Parmese territory ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♂♂, 3 ♀♀, syntypes ( MZUF: Box 35): Agromyza Fall. / fronticornis Rnd. / 1854 .

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Cerodontha capitata ( Zetterstedt, 1848) ( Papp 1984b: 284) View in CoL .

REMARKS: Rondani (1875b: 184) described Agromyza fronticornis , without specifying either the number or the sex of the specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, despite there being five specimens in the type series found in this study. An additional MZUF specimen numbered “1854” is not included in the type series because its label is yellowish rather than the greenish color of Rondani’s original handwritten ones and is in a lower row in the Box. We treat the latter to be a subsequent addition, and consider the five specimens as syntypes .
