Female: (n=4) Body worm-like, 165 long; prodorsal shield 26 long, 35 wide, anterior lobe present; prodorsal shield design with dashed line, median lines complete, admedian lines complete, sinuous, submedian lines complete; scapular tubercles set at prodorsal shield rear margin, setae (sc) 18 long, directed backward, sct-sct 19 apart; leg segments normal, foretibial seta (1') set at basal one-third, 4 long; 1st coxal setae (1b) 6 long, 1bt-1bt 10 apart, 2nd coxal setae (1a) 7 long, 1at-1at 6 apart, 3rd coxal setae (2a) 16 long, 2at-2at 17 apart; solenidion ending as a knob; empodium simple, 5-rayed.

Opisthosoma: with about 64 microtuberculate rings; first 3 rings 4 long; lateral setae (c2) 5 long, c2t-c 2t 31 apart, c 2t \dt 38, c2t-dt 24; 1st ventral setae (d) 24 long, dt-dt 27 apart, dt\et 39, dt-et 34; 2nd ventral setae (e) 5 long, et-et 14 apart, et\ft 49, et-ft 47; 3rd ventral setae (f) 11 long, ft-ft 10 apart; setae h1 present.

Coverflap: 15 wide, 10 long, with about 14 longitudinal lines, genital setae (3a) 6 long, 3at-3at 13 apart.

Male: (n=3) Body 131 long, prodorsal shield 23 long, 32 wide, scapular setae (sc) 14 long, sct-sct 18 apart; genitalia 14 wide, 5 long, genital setae (3a) 6 long, 3at-3at 11 apart.

Specimens examined: 4 females, 3 males, Shaokimen, Kimen; 25-Oct.-2000, C. S. Ho; 3 females, 1 male, Taichung city; 6-Nov.-2007, K. W. Huang; ex. Eriobotrya japonica (Thunb.) Lindl. (Rosaceae) .

Relation to host: Infesting buds and young shoots.

Distribution: USA, Egypt, Taiwan.

Note: This species was found associated with the vagrant mite Phyllocoptes eriobotryae Kuang, Hong & Huang, 1992 .
