WL: 27mm. This species flies in dry savanna and cultivated fields, as well as in degraded forests, especially during the dry season. It is similar to B. aurota , but has a black spot rather than a bar in the cell of the forewing recto, and less darkened veins on the verso. The species is new for Guinea-Bissau and was formerly known to occur from Senegal to Nigeria, Niger, Sudan and western Ethiopia. The caterpillars feed on several Capparaceae and on Cleome sp. ( Cleomaceae ).
Studied material. Cacheu: Caió, not frequent, observed in October (JB).
