Infraorder Stenopodidea

The Stenopodidea are the least diverse decapod infraorder, with worldwide only 70 known species, of which two are exclusively recorded as fossils ( De Grave et al. 2009). The first record of a stenopodid from the Persian Gulf is given herein, Microprosthema validum Stimpson, 1860 , collected from a single locality at Qeshm I.
