COMMON NAME (S): Bicoloured Prominent. SYNONYM(S): Osica verulama Bethune-Baker, 1908 ; Sarimarais pinheyi Kiriakoff, 1962a View in CoL .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia , South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe. LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: ‘Lusaka’, in Lusaka Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): The Anacardiaceae species; Searsia glauca (Thunb.) Moffett , Searsia sp. and S. dentata (Thunb.) F.A.Barkley are reported to be host plants of the taxon in South Africa ( Schintlmeister & Witt 2015;
Taylor 1949). In additioin to these plant species, the African Moths (2019) website has included the species Searsia lancea (L.f.) F.A.Barkley, S. pyroides (Burch.) Moffett and S. rehmanniana (Engl.)
Moffett as larval foodplants of the taxon. No host plants have been associated with the taxon Zambia so far.
