Status at New Ireland. Originally described from New Hanover as Synaptura dicholepis by Peters (1877: 844), based on ZMB 9861 View Materials ( holotype).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—Endemic to New Ireland. Benthic, on inshore sand bottoms. Marine.
