Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed in 2006 at Tigak Islands, New Ireland District, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Malaysia and Indonesia east to Fiji, north to Philippines, south to northern Australia. Found in shallow reefs, 4–8 m depth. Marine.
