Geographical distribution. Colombia.

Comments. The hypopygium of Coniceromyia sakaii is not described here, since it has no significant differences in relation to that of C. pilipleura . Coniceromyia sakaii may represent a junior synonym of C. laticosta , since the two diagnostic features of C. sakaii presented here are probably shared with that species. There is some uncertainty about the presence of the ventral group of microtrichia on the wing of C. laticosta , as Prado’s illustration does not show it (1976, fig. 12) and his description is doubtfull in this respect, referring to a wing with “ 3 types of microtrichae” ( Prado, 1976, p. 566). The loss of the holotype of C. laticosta renders checking this feature impossible. For the time being we prefer to refrain from proposing a synonymy, although conspecificity between the two seems possible.
