The hypopygium of  Coniceromyia sakaiiis not described here, since it has no significant differences in relation to that of  C. pilipleura.  Coniceromyia sakaiimay represent a junior synonym of  C. laticosta,since the two diagnostic features of  C. sakaiipresented here are probably shared with that species. There is some uncertainty about the presence of the ventral group of microtrichia on the wing of  C. laticosta, as Prado’s illustration does not show it (1976, fig. 12) and his description is doubtfull in this respect, referring to a wing with “ 3 typesof microtrichae” ( Prado, 1976, p. 566). The loss of the holotypeof  C. laticostarenders checking this feature impossible.
