Lycidas furvus Song & Chai, 1992: 79 , fig. 6A–D (♁); Song & Li, 1997: 435, fig. 45A–D (♁); Song et al., 1999: 533, fig. 302L (♁); Peng, 2020: 208, fig. 142a–b (♁).

Maratus furvus ( Song & Chai, 1992) View in CoL : Otto & Hill, 2012 ( Lycidas Karsch, 1878 considered as a junior synonym of Maratus, Karsch, 1878 View in CoL ).

Euophrys bulbus: Zha et al., 2014: 371 View in CoL View Cited Treatment , figs 12–22 (♀ ♁), misidentified.

Euochin bulbus: Prószyński et al., 2018: 55 View in CoL , figs 19E–H, 20B, E (♀ ♁); Yu et al., 2021: 132, fig. 1A–G (♀ ♁), misidentified.

Type material. Holotype ♁ (IZCAS-Ar9263), China, Hubei, Enshi , Xuan’en County, 17.VIII.1989.

Diagnosis. Male Euochin furvus can be easily distinguished by the flaky and broad embolic tip.

Description. Male (holotype): Measurements see Song & Chai (1992). Coloration as in Fig. 2E View FIGURE 2 .

Palp ( Fig. 2A–C View FIGURE 2 ): Patella almost as long as tibia. Tibia almost as long as wide, with tapered and straight retrolateral tibial apophysis, as long as tibia. Cymbium approximately two times longer than wide; bulb swollen, with strongly curved sperm duct. Embolus forming a disc at base, followed by lamellar portion, coiled about 1/4 and pointed apically.

Female. See Zha et al. (2014).

Distribution. China (Hubei, Guizhou, Anhui, Fujian).

Remarks. Our study shows that the species belongs to Euochin . The broad embolic tip shows that the E. bulbus in Zha et al. (2014), Prószyński et al. (2018) and Yu et al. (2021) are E. furvus . E. bulbus was reported based on a female holotype from Taiwan, China ( Bao & Peng 2002), and we had no chance to check the holotype to confirm its species validity.
