Lectotype (designated by Berg & DeWolf 1975):— GUYANA. Kaieteur Plateau , 8 May 1944, Maguire & Fanshawe 23292 (lectotype: NY00025337 !; isolectotypes: A00046804 !, F0064503 F!, K000442941 !, P00756614 !, RB00541717 !, U0004580 !, US00090245!, VEN 26441!).

Nomenclatural notes:— The protologue indicates two herbaria for the voucher herbarium specimen Maguire & Fanshawe 23292, one deposited in NY and the other in F. Berg & DeWolf (1975) were the first to designate the NY collection as the lectotype (in the work as “type”) and, therefore, they must be followed (Art. 7.11). Berg & Villavicencio (2004), Berg (2007), and Ibarra-Manríquez et al. (2012) cited the material of F herbarium as the holotype, but this must be corrected .

Taxonomical note:— Ficus savannarum was synonymized by Berg (2007) and Ibarra-Manríquez et al. (2012) as F. pertusa , and by Pelissari et al. (2019) as F. broadwayi .
