Type locality. Santos , state of São Paulo, Brazil. Corrected to Juquitiba by designation of a neotype in Passos et al. (2004) .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 193A View Plate 193 ). Recorded in the southern and central portions of the Atlantic Forest ( Plt. 193A View Plate 193 ), mostly at high elevations ( Plt. 193B View Plate 193 ). Observed in the field in forest ( Martins et al., 2008b).
