Ventocoris (Ventocoris) trigonus (Krynicki, 1871)

Trigonosoma nigellae Kolenati, 1846: 15 (non Fabricius, 1787); Trigonosoma aeruginosum Baerensprung, 1860: 1 (non Cirillo, 1791); Scutellera trigona Krynicki, 1871: 74 ; Trigonosoma aeruginosum Jakovlev, 1882: 144 (non Cirillo, 1791).

Distribution in Iran. West Azarbaijan (Nateq Golestan, 2004; Nateq Golestan et al. 2004, 2010a, b, c, 2011), Iran (no locality cited) (Oshanin 1910; Putshkov 1965; Rider 2006; Péricart 2010).

General distribution. Northeastern Mediterranean basin extending to Aral Sea; records from Sicily and Austria maybe erroneously.

Host plants. On Ficus sp. ( Nateq Golestan et al. 2010a, c, 2011); on Ranunculaceae ( Ceratocephalus sp. , Myosurus sp. , Nigella sp. ) ( Péricart 2010).

Comments. The species was recently revised by Dursun & Fent (2013).
