Tapajosa similis ( Melichar 1925) View in CoL

Diagnosis. General coloration brownish or reddish-brown; hindwing with vein R2+3 incomplete. Male: aedeagus symmetrical, with pair of strongly recurved processes.

Female terminalia. Abdominal sternite VII, in ventral view ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 1 – 20 ), with lateral margins slightly convergent posteriorly, lateroposterior margins obtuse, and posterior margin with three very slight and small lobes medially; surface with numerous scattered microsetae. Pygofer, in lateral view, moderately produced posteriorly; surface with scattered microsetae, and a few macrosetae in posteroventral region. First valvifers, in lateral view, subtriagunlar; with small spiniform processes on ventral angle and thin setae on posterior margin. First ovipositor valvulae, in lateral view, slightly rectilinear; dorsal sculptured area formed by scale-like processes arranged in oblique lines; ventral sculptured area formed by scale-like processes arranged irregularly; apex acute ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 21 – 40 ), with denticles on dorsal and ventral margins. Second valvulae, in lateral view, slightly rectilinear; dorsal margin of blade bearing 22 to 25 continuous teeth, each tooth subtriangular with posterior side longer, with denticles on anterior and posterior margins ( Fig. 59 View FIGURES 41 – 60 ); ducts extending toward teeth and toward apical blade portion; apex rounded ( Fig. 79 View FIGURES 61 – 80 ), with denticles on dorsal and ventral margins; preapical ventral prominence conspicuous. Gonoplacs, in lateral view, with small spiniform processes on ventral margin; apex rounded.
