This African species was described from Sudan but is also known from Yemen (zur Strassen 1990). It is close to S. fulleri View in CoL but can be seperated by ocellar setae pair III longer than the longitudinal width of an ocellus, in contrast to S. fulleri View in CoL in which these setae are shorter than width of ocellus. The species breeds on leaves of Acacia sp. in Saudi Arabia.
