Ptilium crista-castrensis (Hedw.) De Not.

This boreo-montane species is present in almost all countries in the region of South-Eastern Europe - it has not been reported only from Montenegro and European part of Turkey ( Sabovljević et al. 2008). Single Serbian record was given by Soška (1949) from Topčider forest near Belgrade. Although original herbarium material is not available, Topčider area was explored several times afterwards, but P. crista-castrensis wasn’t rediscovered. Having in mind also inadequate ecological conditions in the area of citation, this record should be considered as incorrect, and species rejected from the Serbian bryophyte check-list so far.
