Megachile mellitarsis View in CoL occurs in western North America and specializes on pollen from several plants in the family Asteraceae ( Fowler 2020) View in CoL . Within the BCP, it has been reported in the Lower Colorado Desert ( Cockerell, 1924) and the Central Desert by SDNHM ( GBIF, 2023). The MABC team collected one female in the Coastal Sage Matorral in May 2022. See fig. 231.
