Immature stages described in literature. Erotini : Eros humeralis (F.), only mouthparts illustrated, Böving and Craighead (1931). Pyropterus nigroruber (Degeer) , key diagnosis, cited as Dictyopterus affinis, Korschefsky (1951) . Dictyoptera sp. , a key diagnosis referring to two species: Dictyoptera aurora (Herbst) and Lopheros rubens (Gyllenhal) , without any further differential diagnosis, Korschefsky (1951). Lopheros rubens (Gyllenhal) , Perris (1877), as Eros (Lycus) rubens Gyllenhal. Lopheros lineatus (Gorham) , larva and pupa, Burakowski (1990). Lopheros septentrionalis (Kôno) , as Aplatopterus , and L. lineatus , cited as A. motschulskyi (Barovskij) and L. mamaevi (Medvedev) , Pototskaya (1981). Platycis sculptilis (Say) , as Calopteron sp. , Peterson (1960), McCabe and Johnson (1979a). Miller (1997) stated that he knows larvae of Eropterus Green and Benibotarus Kôno , but gave no further information. He cited Bourgeois (1882) as the source of description of Dictyoptera Latreille , but Bourgeois (1882) referred only to older sources (Laporte de Castelnau, 1840; Motschulsky, 1854) and doubted the correctness of the identification. A reliable description of the Dictyoptera larva is unavailable.
