Material examined. EAST MALAYSIA: Sabah State • ♂ holotype; Mount Trus Madi, Trusmadi Entomology Camp ; N5.44307, E116.45155, 1192.0± 5.6 m.a.s.l.; 31 October 2023, 20h33–20h49; attracted to light trap near camp; coll. M.K. Tan, J.L. Yukang & A.Y.C. Chung; SBH.23.40 GoogleMaps ( FRC)

Etymology. The species name refers to the characteristic falcated male cercus.

Diagnosis. The new species is characterised by the combination of the following male characters: tenth abdominal tergite with a raised triangle in middle; posterior margin broadly rounded, in middle with two bulbous lobes; the lobes are obtusely rounded; between the lobes narrowly emarginated. Cercus large, flattened and strongly curved, with apex flattened tooth-like, truncated. Subgenital plate broad basally, narrowing in basal third into a narrow shaft with its lateral margins parallel. At the apical end with two lateral lobes; the apical lobes slightly longer than half the length of the subgenital plate; between the lobes broadly and angularly emarginated. Styli are flattened, elongate, with apices rounded.

Description. Habitus typical for genus; medium in size compared to congeners; head, pronotum, tegmina and legs when alive generally green, yellow when preserved ( Figs 9G, 9H View FIGURE 9 , 13B View FIGURE 13 ). Eyes in dorsal view globular and slightly protruding anteriorly; in frontal view slightly longer ( Figs 9H, 9I View FIGURE 9 ). Frontal rostrum somewhat flattened, triangular, stout, with rounded apex and median sulcus indistinct ( Fig. 9H View FIGURE 9 ). Antennal scapus with a tint of pinkish red; pedicles mainly pinkish red; and segments pinkish red ( Figs 9H, 9I View FIGURE 9 ). Face and mouthparts generally light coloured, median ocellus large and pyriform ( Fig. 9I View FIGURE 9 ). Pronotal disc with anterior margin straight in middle, posterior margin rounded ( Fig. 9H View FIGURE 9 ); pronzona 1.4 times longer than metazona. Pronotal lobe 1.2 times taller than long; ventral margin short and rounded ( Fig. 9G View FIGURE 9 ). Tegmen relatively narrow and unicolourous green ( Fig. 13B View FIGURE 13 ). Legs generally green. Fore tibia with inner tympanum conchate, slightly swollen, with broad slit opening, around tympanum and knee black ( Fig. 10G View FIGURE 10 ); with outer tympanum pyriform ( Fig. 10H View FIGURE 10 ). Hind femur with genicular area green, external lobes bispinose, dorsal spine subacute, ventral spine acute ( Fig. 10I View FIGURE 10 ).

Male. Left tegmen with vein 1A swollen, typical for genus, somewhat transversely oblong but at anal end slightly narrower ( Fig. 11E View FIGURE 11 ); right tegmen with vein 1A mostly substraight with basal end faintly curved and mirror bowl-shaped with distal end distinctly shorter than basal end ( Fig. 11F View FIGURE 11 ). Stridulatory file on left tegmen stout, typical for genus; straight with ca. 30 fairly widely-spaced, equally-spaced and equally-sized teeth and 7 additional smaller stout teeth at basal end ( Fig. 12C View FIGURE 12 ). Abdominal apex as shown in Fig. 16 View FIGURE 16 : tenth abdominal tergite in middle with raised triangle; its posterior margin broadly rounded, in middle with two bulbous lobes; lobes obtusely rounded; between lobes narrowly emarginated. Cercus large, flattened and strongly curved, with apex flattened tooth-like, truncated. Subgenital plate broad basally, narrowing in basal third into narrow shaft with lateral margins parallel. At apical end with two lateral lobes; apical lobes slightly longer than half the length of the subgenital plate; between lobes broadly and angularly emarginated. Styli flattened, elongated, with apices rounded.

Female. Unknown.
