Ficus fresnoensis Dugand, Caldasia View in CoL 2: 272. 1943.
Lectotype (designated here): — COLOMBIA. Tolima, El Fresno, Cuchilla del Topacio , 3 December 1939, García-Barriga 8222 (COL-13435!; isolectotypes: COL-407610! NY!, US!).
Nomenclatural notes:— The protologue indicates that the holotype of F. fresnoensis was deposited in the herbarium COL ; however, there are two preparations from a single gathering (Pérez-Arbeláez 10221) there. There is no clear indication on the label whether these two preparations are parts of the same specimen ( Turland et al. 2018, Art. 8.3); therefore, these are considered to be duplicates. Therefore, we designate here García-Barriga 8222 (COL-13435) as the lectotype because it has branches, leaves, syconia, and stipules.
Taxonomical notes:— The currently accepted name for this taxon remain uncertain, Berg (2007) has doubt if it is Ficus americana subsp. andicola .
