Habitat. Intertidal, reef flats, seagrass beds, and mangroves, on rocky, sandy, and sand-mud substrates.

Remarks. The variation of colour pattern on the second and third pereopods of Cl. merguiensis showed by Rahayu & Forest (1993) is also present in the material studied here.
