Notes
Species complex. Consists of at least five putative cryptic species in the North American Pacific coasts, near the type locality ( Carr et al. 2011). Specimens from Europe could belong to either of these cryptic species or to a different one. Reported from Greece by Faulwetter et al. (2011a) and Maidanou et al. (2017), widely distributed in the Mediterranean ( Musco and Giangrande 2005).
