Glabellula hannemanni Schumann, 1991: 79 . Evenhuis, 1994: 339. Evenhuis, 2002b: 29 View Cited Treatment .
Schumann (1991) originally described G. hannemanni based on a single specimen from the Eocene/Oligocene amber from Bitterfeld. The description in Schumann (1991) gives all the salient characters used to distinguish the species from its congeners and is not repeated here. Two additional specimens have been seen from Baltic amber, giving further support to Bitterfeld amber being the same age as Baltic amber (cf. Schliephake 2001, Weitschat & Wichard 2002). Both Baltic specimens have the conical first antennal flagellomere and antennal style subequal in length to the first flagellomere, which is characteristic of G. hannemanni .
TYPE: Holotype male from Germany: Bitterfeld amber, in ZMHB (lost after examination).
OTHER MATERIAL EXAMINED. Baltic Region: 1 female, exact location unknown, BJH30, purchased from Jens van Holt ( AMNH); 1 [sex indeterminable], exact locality unknown, [no specimen number] ( ZFMK).
