Head. Densely, finely, shallowly punctate; with abundant pale yellowish-brown pubescence not obscuring integument, except glabrous median groove; with one long, erect dark-brown seta close to eyes. Vertex with dense yellowish pubescence, except glabrous median groove and oblique band on each side of median groove between antennal tubercles and upper eye lobes, and narrow, short yellowish-brown pubescence centrally close to prothorax; with a few long, erect yellowish setae close to eyes. Area behind upper eye lobes with dense yellowish pubescence. Area behind lower eye lobes with dense pubescence close to eyes, pubescence yellowish close to upper eye lobe and gena, yellowish brown centrally, glabrous on remaining surface. Genae 0.5 times length of lower eye lobe; with moderately abundant pale yellowish pubescence not obscuring integument, pubescence absent close to frons and apex; with a few long, erect dark-brown setae interspersed. Wide central area of postclypeus moderately coarsely, confluently punctate; with sparse pale yellowish-brown pubescence close to frons and moderately abundant close to anteclypeus, except dense and longer pubescence centrally; with one long, erect seta on each side, seta dark brown with yellowish apex. Sides of postclypeus smooth, glabrous. Labrum with abundant yellowish-white pubescence partially obscuring integument, pubescence slightly yellower laterally, except glabrous central area of anterior third; with transverse row of long, erect setae about middle, setae dark brown with yellowish apex. Outer surface of mandibles triangularly depressed on basal third; with abundant yellowish-brown pubescence on depressed area, glabrous on remaining surface. Gulamentum smooth, glabrous, except intermaxillary process with abundant pale yellowish-brown pubescence not obscuring integument. Distance between upper eye lobes 0.24 times distance between outer margins of eyes; in frontal view, distance between lower eye lobes 0.51 times distance between outer margins of eyes. Antennae 3.2 times elytral length, reaching elytral apex at base of antennomere VI. Scape slightly surpassing posterior margin of prothorax; with abundant yellowish-white pubescence not obscuring integument dorsally and laterally, and abundant whitish pubescence not obscuring integument ventrally; with a few short, erect, thick blackish setae interspersed near apex of ventral surface. Pedicel with abundant yellowish-white pubescence not obscuring integument; with a few short, erect, thick blackish setae interspersed ventrally. Antennomeres III–XI with moderately abundant whitish pubescence not obscuring integument, pubescence appearing to be darker depending on light source; with short, erect whitish setae interspersed, setae gradually more abundant toward XI; III–IV with sparse, short, erect, thick blackish setae interspersed ventrally; V–VI with a few short, thick blackish setae directed backward on ventral apex. Antennal formula based on length of antennomere III: scape = 1.16; pedicel = 0.13; IV = 1.08; V = 1.03; VI = 0.97; VII = 0.94; VIII = 1.05; IX = 1.11; X = 1.11; XI = 1.21.

Thorax. Prothorax wider than long; anterior and posterior constrictions narrow, well marked; sides divergent from anterior constriction to lateral tubercles, slightly concave close to lateral tubercles, distinctly convergent from lateral tubercles toward posterolateral angles; lateral tubercle small, with blunt apex, located on posterior fifth. Pronotum with on large, circular, slightly distinct gibbosity on each side of anterior half, and elongated, slightly elevated gibbosity centrally on posterior half; abundantly, coarsely punctate, except smooth central gibbosity; with abundant brownish pubescence not obscuring integument except: glabrous anterior and posterior sulcus; yellowish-white pubescent band centrally from middle to posterior margin, except glabrous central gibbosity; irregular yellowish-white pubescent macula centrally near anterior constriction; dense, subcircular yellowish-white pubescent macula on each side of anterior half; large, irregular yellowish-white pubescent macula on sides, with brownish pubescent areas interspersed, from anterior fifth to near lateral tubercles of prothorax; moderately abundant, paler pubescence interspersed on wide central area; and oblique, paler pubescent macula on each side of posterior half; with a few long, erect blackish setae behind lateral tubercles of prothorax. Sides of prothorax abundantly, coarsely punctate, punctures shallower close to prosternum; with abundant pale yellowish-brown pubescence not obscuring punctures close to prothorax. Prosternum with abundant pale yellowish-brown pubescence obscuring integument laterally and moderately abundant yellowish-white pubescence not obscuring integument centrally, except glabrous anterior sulcus. Prosternal process with abundant yellowish-white pubescence not obscuring integument, except glabrous area close to lateral margins on anterior 2/3; sides convergent from base to posterior 2/3, then abruptly, strongly widened; narrowest area 0.39 times procoxal width. Ventral surface of meso- and metathorax with dense pale yellowish-brown pubescence laterally and abundant white pubescence partially obscuring integument centrally. Scutellum with abundant dark yellowish-brown pubescence not obscuring integument, pubescence lighter on margins. Elytra. Subparallel-sided on anterior half, gradually narrowed toward apex on posterior half; apex obliquely concave, making the outer angle triangularly projected; humeral carina slightly marked; abundantly, moderately coarsely punctate on anterior half, punctures gradually finer and sparer toward apex on posterior half; with abundant brownish pubescence not obscuring integument, and abundant, irregular yellowish-white pubescent maculae interspersed, maculae absent on humeral area and on large inverted V-shaped area just after middle. Material examined. BOLIVIA (new country record), Santa Cruz: 5 km SSE Buena Vista , 17°29’96”S 63°39’13”W, 440 m, Hotel Flora & Fauna, 11.XII.2004, R. Clarke leg. ( FSCA) .

Remarks. Eucharitolus longus was described based on a single male from Peru and remained known only by the holotype. The holotype was destroyed in the fire that destroyed the MNRJ in 2018. The general appearance of this species is similar to that of some species of Atrypanius , especially that of A. irrorellus Bates, 1885 , but differs by the pronotum abundantly punctate.
