Notes
The genus Saccocirrus was recently split into the two genera Saccocirrus Bobretzky, 1872 (without pharynx, mainly occurring in the Mediterranean and along European coasts) and Pharyngocirrus Di Domenico, Martínez, Lana and Worsaee, 2014 (with pharynx, in tropical latitudes) based on morphological and molecular analyses ( Di Domenico et al. 2014).
