Notes
Species complex. Bleidorn et al. (2009) recover two putative cryptic species in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean (Sicily). Originally described from the Gulf of Naples, it is unknown whether more cryptic species exist in the Mediterranean and whether the Greek specimens belong to Phylo foetida sensu stricto or to a different species.
