Nezara mendax Breddin, 1908: 68 ; Gaedike, 1971: 91; Linnavuori, 1972: 415

Diagnosis. Thorax: ostiolar ruga auriculate, inconspicuous ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3. A 1 – 2. N E View FIGURE 3 ). Abdomen: black maculae of urosternites absent, shared with N. similis (sometimes) and N. immaculata . Male: ventral rim of pygophore with brims developed towards middle, continuous at mid line ( Fig. 8E View FIGURE 8 ), shared with N. naspira and N. orbiculata ; paramere trilobate, one of the lobes in sagital plan, resulting in a bilobate paramere when observed in posterior view, as in N. soror . Female: posterior margins of gonocoxites 8 sinuous near sutural angles; gonocoxites 8 with deep longitudinal sutures attaining posterior margin of urosternite VII ( Fig. 16 View FIGURE 16 E View FIGURE 16 ); basal half of laterotergites 9 concave; central area of gonapophyses 8 totally exposed, sub-retangular, sutural margins of gonocoxites 8 parallel, not juxtaposed. This last character is exclusive of N. mendax among Nezara species.
