Type species: Trombicula callosa Schluger, 1966 , by original designation.

Diagnosis. SIF = 7BS-N-3-2(3)111.1(0)000; fCx = 1.1.1; fSt = 2.2; Ip <900. Eyes 2 + 2. Scutum nearly trapezoidal or pentagonal, very wide (PW two times or more as long as SD). Sensilla flagelliform, branched in distal half. Dorsal idiosomal setae usually lanceolate.

Hosts. Reptiles ( Lacerta ).

Distribution. Russia (Krasnodarskiy Krai), Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Greece.

Species included. Lacertacarus callosus ( Schluger, 1966) , L. graecus Kalúz, 2011 , L. latus Schluger and Vasilieva, 1977 , L. similis Schluger and Vasilieva, 1977 , L. turcicus Kalúz, 2011 .
