Longfin Halfbeak. To 55 cm (21.7 in) TL ( Robertson and Allen 2002). Long Beach Harbor, southern California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California); Isla de Cedros, central Baja California (Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California) to northern Chile ( Sielfeld et al. 2010), including Gulf of California (Collette in Fischer et al. 1995) and Islas Galápagos ( Eschmeyer and Herald 1983). Epipelagic; depth: surface (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) to 27 m (89 ft) (Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California).
