Indo-Pacific; western Pacific Ocean north to Yonaguni-jima Island, Japan ( Koeda et al. 2016); tip of Baja California, Islas Revillagigedo, and Islas Galápagos ( Robertson and Allen 2002); Islas Marías, Mexico ( Tholan et al. 2020). Depth: 1–71 m (3–233 ft) ( Mundy 2005).
